Pathways: transported with agricultural plants and seeds with bird food seed mixtures.

Flowering season: July – October
Habitat: especially ruderal sites, roadsides, fields and edges of fields. Locally also in sunny parts of lowland forests.
Status in Slovenia: Common and widespread in lowland and hilly parts of Slovenia. Also found near bird feeding tables in gardens.
Similar species: Common mugwort Artemisia vulgaris (native), perennial ragweed, Ambrosia psilostachya (alien).
