Origin: North America

First finding in Slovenia: 1964

Pathways: ornamental plant; planted for honey bees

Possible to find: year-round

Flowering season: May-June

Habitat: Sunny and half-shadowy lowland habitats: riversides, forest edges, scrubland and ruderal areas. Commonly planted in gardens and parks. 

Status in Slovenia: Occurs widespread in lowland parts of Slovenia. Not rarely cultivated in gardens and parks. 

Similar species: Black locust tree, Robinia pseudoacacia, which is a widespread American species.
