HABITAT: Forests, farmland, urban environments where Black locust trees are present.
STATUS IN SLOVENIA: Widespread everywhere where Black locust trees occur.
SIMILAR SPECIES: Several other midge species can not be distinguished with bare eyes, but the shape of the galls is characteristic.
