Alien fungi    

Among all groups alien fungi are the least conspicuous.  These are most often so small that they are not visible to the naked eye. Despite their small size, alien fungi can have serious impacts to native plants and animals. When they infect trees, they can cause changes on roots, trunks, bark, cause drying of shoots or canker scars. As they are often species-specific, they can cause die-off of single tree species, which can result in long-term changes in ecosystems. When fungi infect economically important tree species, monetary loss can be significant. Because of this, several alien fungi are subject to strict phytosanitary measures in the whole European Union. 

Below, you can see some of the fungi species, which are subject to management in Slovenia. Some are already widespread, some only locally present and some still absent with a likelihood of entry to Slovenia.
